Today, Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-34), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement on the Supreme Court's decision in the case of Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin.

"Affirmative action has proven to be an effective tool in advancing opportunity for talented Americans of every stripe. I say that not just as a Congressman for this great democracy, but as a fortunate participant in the program. From a father with a 6th grade education to three daughters in college, I know personally what it means to have an honest shot at success. The Supreme Court chose the right side of history in the Fisher affirmative action case."
